Notion integration

Notion tasks, matched to shipped code

Plan in a Notion database, ship on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Gitmore matches each task to the pull requests that implement it and shows what was planned versus what actually shipped.

What Notion's own Git integration does

Notion's own GitHub integration adds a GitHub Pull Requests property to a database. You link PRs with a task's unique ID or the PR URL, and Notion can update the task status as the PR is opened, reviewed, approved and merged.

  • –Works with GitHub; there is no built-in equivalent for GitLab or Bitbucket.
  • –One Notion workspace per GitHub organization, set up by a workspace owner and an org admin.
  • –Status updates live in Notion; there is no cross-team report of planned vs shipped work.

What Gitmore adds

GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket in one view

Match Notion tasks to pull requests from all three providers, including self-hosted GitLab, in a single planned-vs-shipped view.

Planned vs shipped

See which tasks shipped, which are in progress with an open PR, which PRs merged while the task stayed open, which tasks were closed without a PR, and which merged PRs had no task.

Reports people read

Weekly reports, client portals and the AI chat know which task each pull request implements, so updates talk about planned work, not just commit messages.

Closed when it ships

Optionally, when a linked PR merges, Gitmore marks the task done and comments “Shipped in …” with the PR link. Only confirmed links are written back.

How Notion tasks get linked

  • ✓Map your database's title and status fields once (and, optionally, a unique ID property).
  • ✓A unique ID (for example TASK-42) in the PR title, branch, description or commit messages links the PR to that page.
  • ✓A link to the Notion page in the PR description links it too.
  • ✓Similar titles become suggestions you confirm or reject in Gitmore.

Set up in three steps

1

Connect Notion

Authorize Notion and choose the database your team plans in.

2

Map your fields

Pick the title and status properties, the value that means done, and optionally a unique ID property.

3

Choose repositories

Select the GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket repositories to match against.

Notion + Gitmore FAQ

No, but they work fine together. Notion's integration updates status from GitHub inside Notion; Gitmore adds GitLab and Bitbucket, a planned-vs-shipped view and reports for people outside the team.

Only if you turn write-back on, and only for confirmed links: when the PR merges, Gitmore sets the status you chose as done and adds a comment with the PR link.

Yes. One Notion database can be matched against repositories on GitHub, GitLab (including self-hosted) and Bitbucket Cloud.
