Linear issues, in reports people read
Linear's GitHub and GitLab integrations already move issues as pull requests progress. Gitmore builds on that: planned vs shipped across every repository and provider, in the reports, portals and AI answers your stakeholders use.
What Linear's own Git integration does
Linear has strong native GitHub and GitLab integrations: a PR that mentions an issue id (for example “Closes ENG-123”) links to the issue, and Linear can move it to In Progress and Done as the PR opens and merges.
- –Issue status automation is configurable per team.
- –Linking happens through the issue id in the branch, title or description.
- –Reporting stays inside Linear; Bitbucket isn't covered natively.
What Gitmore adds
Planned vs shipped
See which tasks shipped, which are in progress with an open PR, which PRs merged while the task stayed open, which tasks were closed without a PR, and which merged PRs had no task.
Reports people read
Weekly reports, client portals and the AI chat know which task each pull request implements, so updates talk about planned work, not just commit messages.
Bitbucket too
Teams with repositories on Bitbucket Cloud get the same issue matching alongside GitHub and GitLab.
Merged but not closed
Spot issues whose pull request merged while the issue stayed open, for example when the id was missing or the automation is off.
How Linear tasks get linked
- ✓An issue id (ENG-123) in the PR title, branch, description or commit messages links the PR to the issue.
- ✓A link to the Linear issue in the PR description links it too.
- ✓Similar titles become suggestions you confirm or reject.
Set up in three steps
Connect Linear
Authorize Linear and choose the team to follow.
Choose repositories
Select the repositories whose pull requests should be matched.
Decide on write-back
If Linear's own automation already closes issues, leave write-back off and use Gitmore for reporting.
Linear + Gitmore FAQ
For reporting. Gitmore turns linked issues and PRs into planned-vs-shipped views, weekly reports and client portals, and its AI answers know which issue each PR implements.
No. Write-back is optional. If Linear already moves issues on merge, keep it off and Gitmore only reads.
GitHub, GitLab (including self-hosted) and Bitbucket Cloud.
